After 18 years of making beautiful music together, Rob Zombie walked out on his record label amid clashes over the rocker's upcoming album.
Zombie accuses execs at Geffen of failing to allow enough time to promote his new record, Hellbilly Deluxe 2. The CD was reportedly scheduled to hit shelves next month, but it's been delayed until 2010.
Zombie claims bigshots at Geffen simply allowed the record's release to rot into nothing more than a "chaotic mess, " and has hit the road, signing a new deal with rock label Roadrunner Records.
In a statement, Zombie says he wants to surround himself with people who are more enthusiastic about his music:
"It certainly wasn't an easy decision to make after all this time, but it had to be done. I love this new record and wanted to surround myself with an excited new group of people who can reignite my enthusiasm for working within a hard rock record label. Roadrunner seems to be the perfect place."
