It looks like Canadian crooner Celine Dion isn't pregnant after all.
In August, reports surfaced that Dion, who is 41, and husband Rene Angelil were expecting baby number #2 after the singer underwent in-vitro fertilization.
Various sources reported that the couple had embryos frozen for in-vitro fertilization during the time they were trying to conceive their first child, Rene-Charles, who is now eight.
Dion had embryos implanted in her womb in August and again just last month in October, however it seems both attempts have proved unsuccessful after reports surfaced on Tuesday that the songbird was "no longer pregnant."
In a recent interview via telephone, Angelil, 67, told the Canadian newspaper, Journal de Montreal, that the couple were shocked to learn the procedure didn't work this time around, but are determined to try again:
“We live the reality of the majority of the couples which face these techniques of procreation. The road can be long and difficult. That always does not function as it was the case the first time with Rene-Charles. Last August, Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the pregnancy was well started. However, it was not the case. We knew it ten days later. We were certainly under the shock.”
“Celine and me let us please especially say that we are not discouraged, that with our son, we know that we are privileged parents. And that we again try to live this second pregnancy with the assistance of the team of Doctor Zev Rosenwaks.”
The article also states that the pair plan to travel to New York over the weekend so Celine can undergo further treatment.
