John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston say they are relying on their faith in Scientology to help them cope with the death of their son, Jett.
Jett Travolta, who was autistic, died last January at the age of 16 after suffering a seizure during a family vacation in the Bahamas.
USA today quoted Travolta as telling reporters in Los Angeles:
"We've been working very hard every day as a family to heal. We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping."
Added Travolta's wife, Kelly:
"The outpouring of love from, really, worldwide has been extraordinary. It's been our friends, our family, our church. We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily...It's a tricky thing. Sometimes, something that's right for the moment is not right the next day. Being with people who are important to you, being with people that you love, I think that's what has primarily helped us the most. Sometimes, being alone, too."
Travolta and Preston took part in the round-table interviews to promote their new big-screen comedy, Old Dogs, which marks the film debut of their 9-year-old daughter, Ella.
The family's new film, which co-stars a cornucopia of talent such as Robin Williams, Matt Dillon, Seth Green, Rita Wilson, Luis Guzman and Justin Long (to name a few) is set for release just in time for Thanksgiving - November 25.
