That glam and glitzy outfit Michael Jackson was wearing when entombed in California? Yeah...about that...court docs claim it cost $35,000.
Court documents show that Jackson's estate paid approximately $1 million for his funeral and burial at Glendale's Forest Lawn Cemetery. In addition to Jackson's clothing, expenses for the service included the singer's entombment in the cemetery's private Grand Mausoleum, which cost $590,000; his metallic casket, which cost $25,000; and security, which cost $175,089.
The estate also bought clothing for his family to wear to the event, as well as cars to transport mourners to and from the service, flowers, invitations and programs.
LaToya Jackson told TV's 20/20 shortly after the funeral that her younger brother was laid to rest in a manner befitting his status as the "King of Pop":
"He was dressed in all white pearl beads going across, draped across. A beautiful big gold belt. Like...a belt that you win being a boxer. Full makeup...his hair was done beautifully, his makeup was done beautifully."
