Angelina Takes the Kids to NOLA to See Daddy Brad

 

The Jolie-Pitt clan were out and about in New Orleans, Louisiana, earlier today (Sunday), where they did some grocery shopping at a local market.  

Angelina brought all six children to visit daddy Brad as he works on his latest film, Cogan's Trade.

Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh made their own way down the sidewalk, while twins Knox and Vivienne hitched a ride with mom and dad.

Johnny Depp is Top Money Maker for 2010

Johnny Depp fans rejoice!  The swashbuckling star of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has been named the Top Money-Making Star of 2010 in Quigley Publishing Company's 79th Annual Poll of Motion Picture Exhibitors. This makes Depp's sixth appearance in the Poll, which includes two other first place finishes in 2007 and 2006. Exhibitors felt Depp was responsible for more traffic to theatres than any other Hollywood star based on his performances this year in Alice in Wonderland and The Tourist.

The Quigley Poll, conducted each year since 1932, is an annual survey of motion picture theatre owners and film buyers, which asks them to vote for the ten stars that they believe generated the most box-office revenue for their theatres during the year. It has been long regarded as one of the most reliable indicators of a star's real box-office draw because the selections are made by professionals whose livelihood depends on choosing the films and actors that will bring audiences into their theatres.

The Quigley Poll appears annually in Quigley Publishing Company's International Motion Picture Almanac. 

Angelina Jolie placed second this year for Salt and The Tourist. Robert Downey, Jr. made it to #3 for his third consecutive year in the survey, with 2010 roles in Iron Man 2 and Due Date, while Matt Damon, placed #4, and had a productive year with Green Zone, Hereafter  and True Grit. Even Steve Carell made the Top Ten, coming in at #5 for Dinner for Schmucks, Date Night, and Despicable Me.

Angelina Jolie Tours SOS Children's Village in Haiti

 

SOS Children's Villages, a global organization dedicated to the long-term care and prevention of orphaned and abandoned children, welcomed UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie to its Village in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Tuesday. Jolie was on-site to visit with the Village's 300 children and families and to express her support for SOS' humanitarian relief efforts in the devastated country.

During her stay, Jolie took the time to visit two SOS families who have each taken in four children (all brothers and sisters in both cases) who were among the 33 children involved in last week's detainee crisis.

Jolie expressed her support for the organization, saying in a public statement:

"We are all wondering how to help the people of Haiti and how to reach the most vulnerable. With 500 villages in 132 countries, SOS offers a family-based village model that provides for the holistic needs of a child -- a caring parent, family, community, education and support.

SOS is the largest organization in the world that addresses the issue of children without parental care. SOS has been in Haiti for over three decades, now raising over 300 orphaned and abandoned children and caring for 4,000 more impoverished children and families to help prevent child abandonment.

That was before the earthquake. Now the needs for orphaned children are almost incalculable. SOS has been pulling resources together to provide temporary shelter for unaccompanied children, safe areas for mothers, and food, medicine, trauma counseling, and reunification programs for families and children.

SOS was there before the earthquake, and during it -- but most importantly, SOS will be there for many years to come -- to raise these children, in their communities until they are self sufficient adults.  

As a long time supporter of SOS, I have visited many of these unique villages personally. I can vouch for their commitment and care for the children. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Sue News of The World Over Split Story

A lawyer for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie says the celebrity couple is suing a British newspaper for erroneously reporting they broke up.

The film stars have been together for more than five years and have six children.

The News of the World tabloid last month reported Jolie and Pitt, who have never married, had consulted a divorce lawyer about how to divide their assets and custody of their kids.

However, the pair's lawyer, Keith Schillings, told BBC News they have begun legal proceedings against the newspaper for publishing "false and intrusive allegations."

Angelina Jolie and James Haven Post Online Tribute to Mom, Marcheline Bertrand

 

Angelina Jolie and her brother, James Haven, posted an online video tribute to their mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007 of ovarian cancer.

She was 56.

The video, titled To Mom, With Love - James and Angelina, features vignettes of  private home movies of Bertrand with Jolie and Haven when they were children.

The footage was taken during a trip to Hawaii in 1981. 

Haven's publicist told E! News that he and Jolie compiled the tribute.

The song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, performed by the late Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, is the background tune.

Rumor Has It: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Agree To Split

At this point, I can't say how true this is, so let's file it under "rumor" for now...

Citing a source, The News of the World reports that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have sought legal counsel in LA - meeting with divorce attorney's - to put an end to their relationship and divide what could be $205 million dollars in assets. 

According to the report, Pitt and Jolie - who have reportedly never gotten hitched - have agreed to share their six children, however according to the source, they would take up permanent residence with Jolie.  The couple have three biological children together, daughter Shiloh, 3, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17 months, as well as three adopted children, 8 year old Maddox, Zahara who is 5, and 6 year old Pax.

According to the insider:

"The contract was like a tailor-made version of a prenuptial agreement except for an unmarried couple's split. It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children."

The News of the World said the couple consulted a lawyer in December, and signed the agreement earlier this month. 

The source added that while there was no date specified for the alleged contract to come into effect, the paperwork is already organized for a break-up and for it to be as "un-messy as possible."

Update

At least one unnamed source who is reportedly close to the couple tell People.com that the impending Pitt/Jolie split is "totally false."

People.com said multiple sources deny Jolie and Pitt intend to go their separate ways,  prompting one source to pipe up:

"Everything is fine." 

Forbes Names Top Earning Celeb Couples

Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles are No. 1 on Forbes's list of the 15 top-earning celebrity couples.  The pair  reportedly made a combined total of $122 million between June 2008 and June 2009.

Coming in at No. 2 with $69 million are Harrison Ford and his girlfriend, Calista Flockhart, followed by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, with a cool $55 million.

Will Angelina Adopt Without Brad?

Could it be true?  Is Angelina Jolie really ready to add to her brood by adopting yet another child - this time from Syria?

Rumor has it that Jolie is planning to bring home another child, this time from the Middle Eastern country of Syria - or so says OK! Magazine, anyway.

OK! also claims that Jolie has began the adoption process without partner Brad Pitt - prompting of course, all kinds of rumors and speculation that Pitt isn't interested in parenting any more kids - at least not any that aren't his biological offspring, anyway.

If there's a nugget of truth to the story, it's that a spokesperson for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Washington D.C. reportedly confirmed that "only (Angelina's) name was on the (adoption) papers" - but that was when she was married to Billy Bob Thornton and adopted Maddox.
