One of my favorite actors, Billy Bob Thornton, will be starring in the book-turned-film, Pound for Pound, the big-screen adaptation of the late F.X. Toole's boxing-themed novel.
Toole also wrote the book Rope Burns, which was the basis for the Academy award winning film, Million Dollar Baby.

A jail official in Orange County, Fla., says actor Billy Bob Thornton's estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, is free on $279,000 bail.
The Orlando Sentinel said Saturday that while Brumfield was released from jail Friday, her Orange County circuit court case on first-degree murder charges is still pending.
In addition to the murder charges, Brumfield, 29, is facing charges of aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter over the death of 1-year-old Olivia Garcia.
Brumfield, who has two children of her own, was baby-sitting Garcia when the child suffered a large skull fracture and died. Brumfield alleges Garcia received the injury falling from her playpen, but investigators and a medical examiner say they suspect the young girl died as a result of a homicide, the newspaper said.
Orange Circuit Court Judge Bob Wattles has scheduled Brumfield's trial to begin in December, the Sentinel reported.

In an earlier post, I mentioned that Thornton and Brumfield are estranged, but I haven't been able to determine why - or how long. Wiki says Thorton, who has been married five times, has four kids and that Brumfield is his eldest child from his first marriage. It would be interesting to know why father and daughter have not spoken for years - maybe that would help explain why she 's so messed up.

Thornton's daughter, Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County Jail on Wednesday and faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child in the death of a one-year-old girl she was babysitting in Florida last October.
At the time of her arrest, Brumfield reportedly told police the one-year-old died after receiving a head injury during a fall from a playpen. Later, an autopsy revealed the little girl had a fractured skull and a brain injury.
After Brumfield's arrest, Thornton's publicist said:
"Mr. Thornton is estranged from Amanda and has had no contact with her for quite some time. However, when informed about this situation, he commented that, 'Any time a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones.' "
