I like Charlie Sheen, I really do. In fact, you could say I'm a big fan of his films and loved him in so many movies, like Platoon, Red Dawn, The Boys Next Door, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Young Guns, and The Chase. I watched Spin City because he took the show to a whole new level and Two and a Half Men is one of my favorite shows, which is saying a lot for me because I don't watch a lot of television. So, while everyone has seemingly been jumping on the "Charlie-Sheen-Is-Crazy" bandwagon, I have refrained from doing so because I believe there's probably some truth to what he says about his career and the people he works for, but I was a little shocked when I learned he' called Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer a "troll" for not calling him during the dust-up. In fact, Sheen also calls Cryer a traitor and a turncoat for not coming to his aid and for refusing to comment publicly.
I would think that Cryer, who perhaps may want to protect Sheen (or in fact himself for that matter), is doing the right thing by refraining from making comments to the press about anything - I mean after all, it isn't Cryer's war. Oh, and I'm almost certain that Cryer would probably like to go back to work on the show ASAP, and keep his job, too.
Doesn't Charlie get that? It can't be all about Charlie, all the time, unless he has his own 24/7 TV show, and at this point, maybe he needs one. Until then, you can catch him ranting and raving over at his webstream, Sheen's Korner.
Referring to Cryer, Sheen told E! News:
"Like I said: You're with me, or you're with the trolls. Obviously, he's with the trolls. Jon has not called me. He's a turncoat, a traitor, a troll. Clearly he's a troll. ... He issued a statement. Is it gonna take me calling him a 'traitor, juvenile and scared' for him to get it?"
Asked what he would tell Cryer if he got in touch now, Sheen responded:
"What's there to say? I'll tell him: 'You're a little late. Goodbye, troll. When I'm starring in multimillion-dollar films and he's begging me for a supporting role I'll say, 'You left me out in the cold with all of your guilt and stupidity.'"
Wow. Just wow.
In related news, there are rumors and rumblings underfoot that Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre and his associates are trying to woo actor Rob Lowe as a replacement for Sheen on the show.
Stay tuned.
Oh and Charlie, I think it's time to get some real help.
Update
It seems Charlie has had a change of heart, and has apologized to Cryer, as well as endorses Rob Lowe as a possible replacement. The New York Daily News reports that Sheen called into KEARTH 101 radio show today and apologized:
"I'll apologize to Jon right now. I was in a mood, and I threw that out there. It's a half apology -- it's an apol!"
"I'm talking to Rob, he's a buddy of mine, he's a beautiful man, and he's a brilliant actor. I hope he does it and kicks it's ass."
